Job Description

A top company in the import & export space is seeking an organized and detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join their team! The Accounting Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the accounting team, assisting with daily tasks, and ensuring the smooth operation of the office's financial functions.

In this role, the Accounting Assistant will be responsible for processing Accounts Payable transactions, handling monthly rent and general expenses, and providing general administrative support to the accounting department. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with keen attention to detail, proficiency in Excel, and a desire to learn and grow within the field of accounting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accounts Payable Processing: Assist the accounting team with processing accounts payable, ensuring all invoices are accurately recorded and payments are made in a timely manner.
• Monthly Rent & General Expenses: Process and track monthly rent payments and general office expenses, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to budget guidelines.
• Data Entry: Accurately input financial data into accounting software and spreadsheets, ensuring all information is up-to-date and correct.
• Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support by filing, organizing documents, and managing correspondence within the accounting department.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the staff accountants and accounts payable personnel to ensure smooth operations and accurate financial records.

Qualifications:

• Basic understanding of accounts payable processes and general accounting practices preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel (ability to create spreadsheets, input data, and perform basic calculations).
• Strong attention to detail with excellent data entry skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with team members.
• Willingness to learn and grow within the accounting field.
