Battery Discharge Engineer – Miami

Salary: $115K - $150K/yr | Full-time

A company is transforming lithium-ion battery production with a sustainable supply chain using recycled feedstock. Their patented technology creates cost-effective, high-performance batteries while reducing GHG emissions and landfill waste.

Position Overview:

Seeking an engineer with expertise in disassembly, assessment, and recycling of end-of-life battery systems. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of battery technologies and a focus on material recovery and environmental impact reduction.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop battery systems, including cell selection and architecture.
• Perform battery simulations and design circuits for voltage and current sensing.
• Develop models for state-of-charge estimation.
• Conduct due diligence on designs and fabricate electrochemical cells.
• Research new energy materials and work with lab technicians.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in battery disassembly, recycling, or lifecycle management (automotive, energy storage, or electronics).
• Knowledge of lithium-ion and other common battery chemistries.
• Understanding of safety regulations for battery handling and disposal.
• Experience with battery management systems and diagnostic tools.
• Proficiency in CAD software.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with automated disassembly systems or robotics.
• Knowledge of environmental testing and battery recycling trends.
