Job Description

Alliant Corporation is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Food Safety Inspector to join our team full-time and support BMW in Greer, SC. The ideal candidate will have extensive auditing experience in food safety systems and be proficient in ensuring compliance with ISO 22001:2018 standards. The role will primarily focus on auditing food service facilities while providing detailed reporting and documentation for compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform food safety audits in accordance with ISO 22001:2018 standards.
  • Conduct audits using the existing BMW audit guideline, ensuring compliance with food safety and quality requirements.
  • Lead or support audits with a focus on areas like food manufacturing processes, restaurant environments, and food service operations.
  • Document and report audit findings clearly and concisely, ensuring accuracy and alignment with food safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance and resolve any identified issues or non-conformities.
  • Provide recommendations for improving food safety practices and maintaining industry standards.
  • Be physically able to walk large plant sites and conduct thorough, on-site inspections.
  • Manage and execute audits in field and office settings (3 days per week in the field, 2 days per week for reporting/meetings).

Qualifications:

  • Auditing experience in ISO 22001:2018 food safety management systems is required.
  • Lead Auditor qualification in ISO 22001:2018 is highly preferred.
  • Experience working in food manufacturing, restaurants, or food service environments.
  • Previous auditing experience with NSF, EcoSure Food Safety, and FSI is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills emphasizing attention to detail for reporting and documentation.
  • Excellent communication skills for both written and verbal reports.
  • Physically able to walk and navigate extensive plant facilities.
