Join Our Team as a Project Engineer – Machine Automation and Controls! Location: Orlando / Maitland FL Job Type: Full-Time Laser Photonics Corporation, a leader in industrial laser solutions, is seeking a talented and motivated Project Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. If you have a strong background in automation systems, motion systems, robotics, control logic, and human-machine interfaces (HMIs), we want to hear from you! This role offers the opportunity to develop, program, and test cutting-edge automated systems that enhance our laser technology solutions and improve operational efficiency. What You'll Do: Design, program, and implement automation and robotic systems for laser photonics applications. Collaborate with engineers to test, troubleshoot, and develop control systems for both new and existing products. Set up and optimize motion systems, including servo, linear, and stepper motion controls and drivers. Conduct proof-of-concept testing for new automation and robotic applications. Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, including design specifications, wiring diagrams, user manuals, and test plans. Independently generate innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges. Analyze and interpret existing product coding and wiring diagrams. Provide technical support and training to end-users and internal teams. Participate in project planning, scheduling, and progress reporting. Apply solid knowledge of electronic and electromechanical devices, including analog inputs/outputs, quadrature encoders, relays, solenoids, and proximity sensors. Continuously improve processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and cost savings. Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations related to automated systems. What You'll Bring: Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, Software Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience in designing, developing, and implementing automation or robotic systems. Experience with automation controllers such as Aerotek, Bosch, FsCut, Copley, Crouzet, or DDCS CNC controllers. Preferred experience with robotic control software and simulation tools (Fanuc, ROS, MATLAB, Simulink). Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, Visual Basic, or Java.
