Job Description

* Location: Quincy, MA. (Community Behavioral Health Clinic)

* Schedule: M - F, day hours, 9am - 5pm is standard.

* Onsite all 5 days.

* Population: Primarily Children, must have experience working with children.

* Edu: Masters or Doctorate in Social Work.

* Certification: State licensure at the independent level.

* Case load - 12 billable hours per week is the minimum requirement.

* 50% seeing patients, 50% managing.

* Comp: $75-$85K base, $8k sign on bonus ($3k paid at 6 months, $5k at 1 year).

* Interview process: 2 round, both in person.

SUMMARY:

Under the guidance of the Program Director, the Clinical Supervisor will set a positive tone/morale for the team; will model clients mission and professional culture; and will provide clinical supervision for Masters and/or Bachelors per regulation and licensing requirements. The role will assure all clinical documentation meets the organization’s standard of care; monitors risk; ensures quality of care and compliance are adhered to; and promotes evidence-based practices. The Clinical Supervisor, with the Program Director and Training Department, will have input in design and development of clinical training to help foster growth and professional development of clinical staff. This job will require the clinical supervisor to stay current regarding all relevant professional literature.

JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Provides individual and group supervision, as determined by the program director and licensure requirements of individual supervisee.
  • Ensures availability by telephone or in person as needed for additional support (crisis) for clinical staff and team members during business hours. Will be included in On-Call Rotation for extended day time hours, Saturdays, and Sundays.
  • Assures that Clinicians are delivering clinically appropriate treatment services to families and individuals via supervisory discussion and clinical record review.
  • Clinical record review could include:
  • Ensuring progress notes address: treatment plan goals, justify amounts billed per session, demonstrate medical necessity, and include all necessary actions to provide appropriate care.
  • Ongoing updates/assessments are completed and of high quality.
  • Required documents are scanned into the record (safety plans, releases, CANS, signature forms).
  • Treatment plans represent clinically appropriate work to meet medical necessity and appropriate level of care.
  • Discharge summaries are written and completed in timely fashion.
  • Assures that Clinicians are learning new and appropriate clinical intervention techniques through supervision and training.
  • Follows and addresses questions related to policy/procedures of agency and/or department.
  • Understands the roles of the Supervisor and the role of the Program Director and brings all concerns or questions to the Program Director when appropriate.
  • Work with the Program Director regarding the following issues.
  • Assign new cases when necessary and maintain an appropriate caseload for the supervisee.
  • Require staff to complete outstanding work and/or develop improvement plan
  • Relevant safety/clinical/billing issues.
  • Reviews current caseloads for clinical and medical necessity and discusses need for closure when applicable.
  • Reviews mandated reporting issues with supervisees and consults with Program Director prior to filing 51A report, or other protective services issues such as a DPPC or elder abuse reports.
  • Reviews initial case documentation, including initial assessment, treatment plan and on-going notes to assure that all services were properly documented/up to required regulatory and professional standards.
  • Maintains documentation in Avatar record system recording dates, times and general topic discussed for each individual supervision session.
  • Ensures supervisees ongoing documentation of care continues to meet all compliance and quality requirements/justifies amounts billed and addresses treatment plan goals. Documentation compliance will tie into Aspire’s Planned Review Process.
  • Reviews Tableau Dashboards weekly to monitor supervisees for completion of progress notes, assessments and treatment plans in a timely manner.
  • Meets with Program Director weekly to review progress of staff and address any areas of clinical treatment and/or job performance needing attention, as well as other programmatic/staff issues, and challenges supervisor faces.
  • When necessary reviews need for performance improvement plans for staff with Program Director and follows plans for assigned staff.
  • Works with program director to complete performance evaluations for all assigned supervisees.
  • Based on licensure may sign off on individual clinician licenses applications. Should there be concerns with skills/conduct of license eligible staff, reviews this immediately with both Program Director and supervisee.
  • Always contributes positively to the morale of the team by modeling, speaking positively, creating an inclusive atmosphere between staff and administration.
  • Facilitates the resolution of customer complaints in consultation with the Program Director as observed by the Program Director and feedback received from customers.
  • Follows the Agency’s/department policies regarding professional ethics, confidentiality and agency code of conduct.
  • Maintains appropriate relationships with clients and/or staff as observed by Program Director and feedback received from staff/clients.
  • Attends all agency training regarding enhancement of supervisory and management skills.
  • Steps in and covers cases as needed during leaves, vacations and terminations until case can be reassigned.
  • Supervisees agree to have the agency bill under their name and license for unlicensed direct supervisee select third party payers per agreement with the payer and Aspire Health Alliance.
  • Provides direct support to supervisees for any client complaints to respective professional boards of registration. For unlicensed supervisees, these client complaints will most likely name the supervisor as the licensed professional involved with the treatment.

  • Performs other duties/projects as assigned.

Education:

  • Independent License in Social Work, Psychology, Nursing or Counseling Required.
  • Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Nursing or Counseling Required.

Experience:

  • Previous supervisory/teaching experience preferred
  • Experience utilizing Electronic Health Record preferred.
  • Proficiency in computer technology required.
  • Minimum two years post graduate experience required and five years strongly preferred.
