Job Description

Optomi, in partnership with an industry leading automotive corporation, are seeking a Senior Cloud DevOps Engineer with deep expertise in AWS and modern infrastructure practices to help drive scalable, secure, and reliable cloud-native solutions. This is a high-impact role for someone passionate about automation, performance, and operational excellence.

What You’ll Do

• Design, build, and manage cloud-native architectures leveraging AWS services (EC2, Lambda, S3, CloudWatch, Aurora Global DB)
• Use tools like Terraform and CloudFormation for infrastructure automation and configuration management
• Lead containerization efforts using Docker and Kubernetes, driving efficient deployment and orchestration
• Develop, review, and manage runbooks, auto-remediation scripts, and CI/CD pipelines
• Optimize system performance, scalability, and reliability, ensuring zero-downtime deployments and high availability
• Collaborate in BCP/DR planning and testing
• Guide teams on DevOps best practices, including blue/green and canary deployments, and self-service models
• Drive monitoring and observability using CloudWatch, Datadog, or equivalent
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure, network, and security issues
• Lead Chaos Engineering initiatives and fault injection practices

Core Skills

• 8+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or related roles
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS
• Proficiency in infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
• Expertise with Kubernetes and container lifecycle management
• Solid understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP,
• Experience with cloud-native operations, cost models, and design patterns
• Familiarity with large-scale, always-on, customer-facing systems

Nice to Have

• Strong coding ability in Python and Terraform
• Understanding of cloud compliance, security, and risk management
• Exposure to performance tuning and web-scale architecture
• Experience with SRE principles, monitoring, and incident response
• AWS or Azure certifications
• Experience with load balancers, CDNs, caching, and API optimization
• Ability to interpret enterprise assessments and advise on strategic improvements
